Statement

Hi, I am I.J Injung Kim, a fun-loving and passionate industrial designer. I graduated from Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, CA, one of the top design schools in the world. I am originally from Seoul, South Korea, but I moved to Los Angeles to attend school to gain more experience and knowledge in design. While at Art Center, I was surrounded by very talented individuals from all over the world.

One of the best parts about designing is finding inspiration for new designs. We can get inspiration for designs from anywhere- from nature, animals, insects, and, most of all, from people. One of my favorite parts during the design process is gaining insight from consumers. When I start to design something, it begins as a puzzle. Sometimes, I have a part or almost nothing of the design, but I am inspired and motivated to put the pieces together by talking to people and watching their behaviors. People give me many fun ideas for my designs. Sometimes, they think that their thoughts are nothing special, but when I apply what I learn from them on my projects, their ideas become more powerful than what I could ever have imagined. For this reason, the relationships I build with people are precious to me.

I like to design fun products that offer entertaining experiences to people. I believe that if I enjoy creating my products, then people can also enjoy these products and share their experiences with their friends and family.
