To illustrate who I am as a designer, the word umami is the first thing that comes to my mind.
There are five known basic tastes in the human palate: salty, sweet, sour, bitter and umami. Umami is a loanword from Japanese, umai “delicious,” mi “taste.” Umami is described as a brothy, meaty taste that is a long lasting, and coating sensation over the tongue. The fundamental effect of umami is to balance the total flavor of the dish.
When I work, I think in multiple facets and find the right balance between clients, consumers, co-workers, family and life. I have learned a great life lesson that design is more than just a job but rather a way of living. Growing up in Bangkok and Los Angeles has given me a unique perspective to be a designer. Through school and work, I have been taught to understand the meaning of good design. I have faith in good design because it solves problems, makes a product last long and positively effects humans and the environment. To me, good design is just like cooking a delectable dish with the right ingredients for the right people.
As a skilled young product designer, I can make great contributions to a design team or organization to come up with great ideas, products, or innovative business solutions. I have passion in the process of product development – ranging from brainstorming, research, ideation, and model making to visual presentation and storytelling. With my passion and skills, I’m searching for people who like to challenge the status quo to make the world a better place, and like umami, deliver experiences to people which goes beyond the expected fundamental tastes by providing delicious, memorable solutions.
