Statement

HI, I AM SIWEI WANG

My first degree in Industrial Design was in China, where I was introduced to the world of art and design. It brought me to Art Center where I wanted to continue my life as a design thinker. I have always been someone who likes to create connections between people, their experiences and the products they use.

I am a visual and empathetic storyteller who has at least 30 sketchbooks in rotation at all time. Each sketchbook presents different themes, such as CMF collections, dynamic sketches, product ideations, brand researches and so on. The sketchbooks reflect what I see, what I like, and what I learn. It’s a type of “visual history” that becomes a solid source of ideas and inspiration.

Establishing visual systems and aesthetic products have been so effective in creating clear communication and connections within a diverse team. Through my design process I create visual elements, such as info-graphics and storyboards that build a system that can be utilized by designers, products and their users.
