My name is Kristen Stain. I am an illustration major that thinks like a product designer. I come from a very structured, academic and athletic family. From political science to track, I was always in training. I understood the need for individual excellence, while still contributing to the success of the whole, the larger purpose.
Product design actively involves all parts of myself. I am driven by aesthetics, fluent in visual communication, and also disciplined by details and information. This duality allows me to embrace emotion and express that through CMF and form language, at the same time using the context of a problem to adjudicate what is and isn’t important in finding a solution.
Through my work, I am steadily pulling from my various educations in an attempt to tackle a question from every angle. I am a comprehensive thinker, and I think art and design is a conversation without end.
