Design is something I’ve fallen in love with over and over again. At 16, I learned how to throw ceramics on the wheel and became completely enamoured with the process of crafting beautiful forms, sticking them in fire, and pulling out something truly functional.
At ArtCenter, I learned how to create experiences that have a lasting positive impact on people’s lives and on our planet. It completely changed the way I see my role as a designer, and inspired me to use design for a greater purpose.
Recently, I had the opportunity to work in Singapore with business students at INSEAD, where I applied design thinking to creating new business models and brand strategies. Collaborating with MBAs and other designers, writing business plans, and pitching to investors made my passion for this field grow even more.
I can see now that design has many more applications than I imagined. Living at that edge, discovering those applications, is exactly where I love to be.
