Good design is about a carefully choreographed experience – creating value for the brand as a result. Whether it’s a product or a service, people make their own interpretations based on what is given. It is essential then that design cues are well integrated into the experience to lead the user into an ‘aha’ moment. From the method an object functions to the way it looks, this epiphany is a why design is appreciated and valued. In other words, when the user resonates with the design intent, it puts a smile on their face.
How do we create this ‘aha’ moment? Successful designs could be drawn from many different processes, keeping in mind the target user and the stakeholders. Unfortunately, the world doesn’t revolve around designers. So, being adaptable to approach challenges with appropriate methods and working with experts in different fields is a smart way to go.
