My name is Miguel Harry; I'm from Medellín, Colombia. I grew up surrounded by "echadospa'lante" a saying that loosely translates to "people that keep moving forward." This speaks to the community I know, one that always finds a way to make things work, from a grill made out of a wheelbarrow to full houses made out of recycled plastic. The sheer resourcefulness and determination of the Colombian people always made me smile.
This resourcefulness is something I keep with me throughout my design process. I believe in observation, conversation and iteration, and am driven to create a well-considered object, one that will make a positive impact on people's lives. I believe technology allows for greater access and better opportunities for people around the world. I will join the ID team at Google this summer and my hope is to continue to create design that keeps moving forward.
