Statement

Hi, I'm Ji Kim.
By the time I was 10 years old, I had experienced racism and great loss. I was born in Japan and then moved to Korea after the loss of my mother. In Korea, I was bullied for my mixed race, so my father moved us to Northern California for a new beginning. These early experiences taught me to have empathy for others.

I use empathy to design products and experiences that empower people and make an impact in their lives. Finding deep connections with others and understanding their core needs, I am able to find realistic solutions that resonate. I consider perspectives, I honor culture, I absorb lifestyles, and I collaborate with other professionals, in order to envision the most innovative and personal solutions. Design is the tool that allows me to make the greatest impact.
